What I implemented

  • Implemented parts of a modular NestJS backend, React operational UI, PostgreSQL models, background workers, and a separate IoT gateway.
  • Built custom TCP communication and binary protocol adapters with receipt validation, telemetry/alarm normalization, and retained processing evidence.
  • Added access control, administrative and import workflows, plus cloud release checks, database migrations, and rollback procedures.

Technical decisions

  • Kept device ingress in a separate gateway, with backend modules and workers responsible for application logic and background processing.
  • Used idempotent processing, retained evidence, retries, and controlled replay to make failed processing inspectable and recoverable.

Result & scope

Implemented a path from device receipts to reviewable application data and operational workflows. Scope here covers implemented engineering contributions; full operational acceptance and production qualification are not claimed.

What I implemented

  • Used Decimal-based monetary values to avoid floating-point arithmetic for financial amounts.
  • Performed reporting aggregation in the database and kept API/client contracts explicit across the Python and TypeScript boundary.

What I implemented

  • Built a React/Vite TypeScript dashboard communicating with a NestJS API over Socket.IO and displaying an external MJPEG camera feed.
  • Connected the API to a separate Python/FastAPI Qwen vision worker and handled camera/worker connectivity, errors, and reconnection.

Technical decisions

  • Kept vision inference in a separate Python worker, with the NestJS API coordinating requests from the dashboard.
  • Used the external MJPEG source for live viewing and Socket.IO for dashboard communication and question/answer updates.

Result & scope

Demonstrated connected live viewing and reactive visual question answering. This was a software integration prototype, not a completed commercial deployment.

About me

Connecting the parts.

I work across frontend development, backend services, database design, system integration, and deployment workflows. At Yuedong Xinghe, my responsibilities expanded from backend engineering into broader software engineering: platform architecture, React interfaces, access control, IoT integration, and cloud delivery.

A distinctive part of my work is building TCP servers and protocol adapters that connect IoT devices to backend APIs and operational interfaces. I have also built a smart-home prototype connecting a web dashboard, backend API, live camera feed, and Python vision worker.

I am developing my data engineering capability through hands-on Python, SQL, data cleaning, and data modeling projects. This learning builds on my experience with application databases and import workflows.

I use Codex and Claude Code to support planning, implementation, refactoring, and review, while retaining responsibility for technical decisions and validation. I also practice algorithmic problem-solving on LeetCode and HackerRank.

Away from work, I enjoy hiking and photography.
